The recently concluded Foundry program has been a 16-week experiential program designed to stimulate senior secondary students to discover and experience for themselves their own creativity, team working and problem solving skills. The spirit of the program is that these very important skills are already inside all of them and we simply need to provide a platform for these to shine through. More importantly, the program is, by design, difficult to navigate for most students. This is where, with the dedicated help and support of D2S Mentors, students get to witness and be pleasantly surprised by the power of their own resilience — a critical element the Foundry is trying to bring out. We are therefore happy that the results of our pre- and post- program survey are able to show meaningful impact in the areas we care most about.
Our results show Foundry has helped students with:
1. Boosted confidence in core soft skills:
Survey data reveals that Foundry has had a significant impact on students' confidence and skills. Many students experienced their first opportunity to present to large audiences, tackle new challenges, and enhance their teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
2. Positive Mentor experience:
Students consistently praised the mentor support provided throughout their journey in the Foundry. The mentorship aspect, along with teamwork and communication skills, emerged as the most useful components of the program from students’ views.

3. Empowering experience:
Students shared an abundance of positive feedback about their experience with the Foundry. They described it as a platform that provided them with a clearer vision for their future, empowered them to challenge themselves, broaden their horizons, and offered a truly valuable, enriching and fun experience.
