Thrilled by company Visit to MTR Academy

A few teams from the Foundry had an amazing time exploring the inner workings of MTRAcademy, Hong Kong's leading transportation company. Learning about their broad coverage of not just Hong Kong but globally and how they achieve seamless connectivity and world-class efficiency left many inspired. A big thank you to the MTRAcademy team for organising such an informative and engaging event.

As well as getting hands-on with some (albeit) simulated piloting of our all so familiar MTR trains, our students also learned about what it takes to join the numerous career pathways within this huge organisation. All in all, an enriching and engaging time for all.

To say we had an amazing time with the SouthChinaMorningPost,SCMP was a massive understatement.

Not only did we get a whole morning of varied content; inclusive of interactive games, the standard walk around office tour and snacks time, Foundry students had a team of SCMP Serve volunteers spending multiple one-on-one sessions with them. They experienced what job interviews were like, talked about their dream jobs and got to seek personal advice from the volunteers about their future career planning.

We got to delve deep into the intricacies of conducting interviews, exploring various techniques and strategies to bring out the best in interviewees.

Most impressive of all, each student came away with their own personalised “report card” to help them remember what and how to improve for the future.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the SouthChinaMorningPost,SCMP Team for giving us their Saturday morning and bringing such a meaningful and well choreographed program to live for our students !

Are you ready to follow the growth journey of the Foundry 2.0's students?

19 Apr 2024

Foundry 2.0's students are now progressing into the most challenging stage of the program.

The twelve teams have all finished the (sometimes dreaded) “session 4” milestone  where they are supposed to have completed the transformation of their dream or passion into a coherent business model that makes money. They now have four weeks to take things into their own hands to finalise their business plans and construct a compelling investor pitch to grab investor-judges attention on the upcoming Sharing Day.

During the past few sessions, team members have been given all necessary information and knowhow to bring their own creations into life. They must now work together with the support of their assigned D2S:Mentors to build their dream business plan presentation. Just looking at the wide array of business ideas amongst the teams, the sky is the limit !

Follow us on IG and/or LinkedIn to see the latest developments of Foundry 2.0 and witness the innovative and courageous achievements of these future entrepreneurs.

Growth Partner and Funder

10 Dec 2023

We are proud to share that The D. H. Chen Foundation has officially become a Growth Partner and Funder of Dream2Story’s The Foundry program! We want to thank the Foundation  for giving us the opportunity to promote student agency and nurture under-resourced talents in Hong Kong.

The D. H. Chen Foundation is a Hong Kong family philanthropic trust established in 1970 by Dr. Din Hwa Chen, an ardent philanthropist and a devout Buddhist who also founded the Nan Fung Group. The Foundation has been steering and supporting numerous innovative, impactful and sustainable community initiatives to enrich lives through its five strategies, namely “Initiate, Capacity Building, Innovate, Catalyst for Collaboration, and Impact-Driven”.

Aspiring to build a compassionate society and promote compassion-based values, the Foundation endeavors to put compassion into action through the work of our five Institutes - a realization of Dr. Chen’s philosophy – “Care for others as well as you would care for yourself”.

Foundry 2.0 Participating Schools

Foundry 2.0 applications have now officially closed. Thanks to the support of past and new schools, we have fully filled this years’ quota with seven schools.

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to realise their own potential, and tertiary education is not the only pathway to success.
